Professional skill sets can be of enormous benefit to a sector that has limited funds for overhead spending, given funders’ eagerness to keep administrative costs to a minimum. That overhead—the strategic planning, leadership development, technology, finance, and marketing functions—is what enables organizations to thrive and scale effectively.
