VAFRE Hosts Penelope Burk at February 1st Workshop

Dec 14 posted by: vafre

VAFRE is very pleased to welcome Penelope Burk, a highly sought-after presenter and researcher with more than 30 years of experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, marketing, and research, to Richmond for its upcoming half-day workshop, Communication is the Ask: How to Raise More Money Using Donor-Centered Communication.

We hope you will make plans to join us for the session on February 1st.  Burk has been busy since the 2003 publication of Donor Centered Fundraising, the only statistically-supported fundraising philosophy that has helped nonprofit organizations view their fundraising from the needs of the donor—not the needs of the organization.  Building upon these strategies with her new, ground-breaking research on the causes of and remedies for high donor attrition, Communication is the Ask explains what donors need to know and explores how nonprofits can become masters of their own messages.

Program highlights include: ways in which donors are changing how they give; why selling your brand only works once and how measurable results and news trumps all other communications; how to find a satisfying balance between intellectual and emotional copy; tips on print and electronic communications; what donors are looking for when they land on your organization’s website; and how to pull it all together in a customer-service approach to donor communication.

You won’t want to miss this workshop.  For complete program details, click here.

Registration for this event has closed, as we have reached capacity. If you would like to be added to the waiting list please e-mail vafre@catapult-inc.com.

Fee includes the workshop–which qualifies for 3.5 hours of Certified Fund Raising Executive continuing education points–continental breakfast and lunch.

The workshop is being sponsored in part by the University of Richmond.
