This year’s Nina Abady Award winner, Gayle Haglund, CFRE, is the Director of Resource Development for Westminster Canterbury Foundation. As noted in her nomination, she has “devoted herself to excellence in fundraising for more than twenty years” and has served in leadership positions for many organizations in the greater Richmond region – Trinity Episcopal School, Union Presbyterian Seminary, University of Virginia-Virginia Foundation for the Humanities, FeedMore and Baptist Theological Seminary. Gayle is devoted to ensuring that donors’ gits are stewarded properly and that they understand what a difference they are making with their generosity. She is so trusted and genuine in her dealings with donors that most refer to her as a friend rather than a fundraiser.
Our Rising Star Award winner is Amy Clark Garmon, the Annual Giving Officer at ChildSavers. Amy’s work focuses on strategies to build relationships to sustain the mission. Her work is about the thousands of children, and those who care for and educate them, ChildSavers serves each year. It's about all of the children in Central Virginia that ChildSavers needs to grow their capacity to reach. It's about you! Yes, you, too! Because making nurturing early child care and trauma-informed mental health therapy accessible and affordable takes all of us. She is proud to be a member of VAFRE, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden’s Board of Associates, and the Podium Foundation’s Young Professionals Board.
Congratulations to both of our honorees!
Make plans to join us as we celebrate their achievements at our Annual Awards Luncheon on April 16th at the Bolling Haxall House.
