Message from the President
It’s a busy time of year! Of course, these days, it really feels like there is no quiet time of year, right? As we gear up for what is the busiest time of year for many development offices, I find that planning is key to making things go smoothly. Taking the time to write out your calendar, prioritize projects, assign specific responsibilities and create an accountability plan always turns out to be time well spent.
In a conversation with one of my colleagues, we were discussing the value of accountability and the idea of having accountability “partners” - finding someone to connect with on a regular basis and share progress towards goals. If you don’t already have an accountability system or partner, what a neat opportunity to network at the next VAFRE event you attend. Perhaps you can connect with a peer and support and celebrate one another throughout the busy year-end season.
As composer Leonard Bernstein once said, “To achieve great things, two things are needed; a plan and not quite enough time.” Let’s put a plan into action now and, as we all well know, it will feel like we don’t have quite enough time before the calendar year comes to a close!
I wish you the best in all of the preparations that go into making your year end fundraising season a success!Jenn

The Professional Partnership Program (P3), now entering it's seventh year, will kick off with a meeting at the offices of the program sponsor, Fahrenheit Advisors. This year's 18 partners will form two groups based on areas of greatest interest to each group. Issues and topics for each team meeting will be solicited in advance and facilitated by the Leaders.
Thanks to this year's Leaders:
P3 Alumni are invited to join us for this celebration on September 26th as the new teams meet each other and sit down to begin their year of discussions. Just log in to register.
Thanks to Fahrenheit Advisors for their sponsorship of the P3 program.
To become a CFRE, fundraising professionals must document their professional performance (including funds raised), education, and professional practice as well as pass the 200-question exam.
We applaud Kristen for this pivotal professional achievement. She is now part of a global community of 6,700 CFREs across 25 countries.
Current VAFRE members enjoy a 20% discount on CFRE certification fees. More information about becoming a CFRE is available here.
