Don't Forget to Sign Up: VAFRE Affinity Groups

One of the greatest things about our Association is the opportunity to meet and network with fellow fundraisers in our region. VAFRE Affinity Groups are discussion forums and listservs targeted to specific interests within the fundraising field. Choose to join one or more groups that most interest you or relate to your career. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions from members, share new ideas and best practices, meet members in your field or connect to those you've already met, and create virtual meet-ups.

Members, log in and select from groups dedicate to Annual Funds, Grant Writing & Reporting, Small Shop Fundraising and more.

    Message from the President

For most of us, we are in the home stretch.  Most of us are preparing to end our fiscal year.  We have tried everything we could try and done everything we could have done.  As you move into the next phase of planning your next fiscal year, use this time to reflect.

Once you have all your data, analyze how things went.  Either you had a successful event or idea or it was a lesson learned.  Then take some time off this summer to rest and come back to your organization energized.

My time as VAFRE’s President is also coming to an end.  It has been my esteemed pleasure serving in this role and working with such amazing people across our board, staff, committees, and partnership with AFP.

Please look out for our upcoming summer sessions and be kind to yourself.

    Robinette Tiller
    VAFRE President

VAFRE Events Have a New Home!

Beginning in September, VAFRE is returning to in-person events at a new home. The Virginia War Memorial will act as our host for all of our programs for the coming year.

While we will miss our long-time venue of Lakeside Park (formerly Jefferson Lakeside Country Club), our new location will offer ample space for our in-person events as well as the technological capability to handle a live-stream of each event for those who are unable to attend in-person.

Watch for further details as the programs are confirmed over the next couple of months.
