Board Nominations Sought
The VAFRE Nominating Committee is seeking nominations to fill vacant positions for the Board of Directors for the 2023/2024 fiscal year. Now is the time to take your membership to the next level and make a commitment to VAFRE or to nominate someone else for the Board. Your nominations are needed by Tuesday, February 28, 2023. Each nominee will receive a Candidate Interest Form that must be completed to be considered for a position by the Nominating Committee.
Eligibility and Term of Office: To be a director, you must be a member, in good standing. Each elected Director shall take office on July 1, 2023 for a two-year term and is responsible for, along with other Board members, determining VAFRE policies and supporting the mission of the organization. Time commitment includes a board meeting the first Tuesday of every other month (schedule variable until we can meet again in-person) and the time needed to complete the tasks of your board role.

March Program Finding Your Way in Philanthropy: Advancement, Development and Fundraising...Oh My!
Join us at the Virginia War Memorial on March 7th as Lindsay Lane Robinson, CFRE, Director of Development at Northstar Academy & Career Center, explores the main functions of the money-asking, relationship-building side of philanthropy. The discussion will cover the definitions of advancement, development, and fundraising, help you figure out which role you're in (despite what your title may say), and help you hone your skills for the role you have - and the job you want. And we'll explore what your organization may need and who outside of your fundraising office (be it an office of one or many) can help you fill in the gaps.
Approval is pending for CFRE credit for this program.
