The impact of organizational culture on performance and success is discernable and incredibly powerful. Brands like Wegman’s, CarMax, Patagonia, and Chick-Fil-A all leverage culture to create a customer experience full of emotion and joy. During his session, Dr. Bob Kelley will first share how organizations build and nurture world-class cultures. He will then offer thoughts on how external partners (professional service companies, nonprofits, etc.) can best understand and be respectful of the culture of a company when selling to or performing a service for them.
Dr. Bob Kelley is president and principle consultant for Pure Culture Consulting Inc., a Richmond, Virginia based brand, strategy, culture, and research consulting firm focused on helping senior leaders find a path to personal and organizational growth. He is also Co-founder of Mediapond, a digital design firm that provides an authentic approach to brand expression.
In addition to his business activities, Bob is a full time professor in management at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business. At VCU, he teaches traditional and executive MBA and undergraduate classes in strategy and culture. Bob also teaches Advanced Brand Management at the VCU Brandcenter. He is a frequent national speaker on the topics of brand strategy, customer service, leadership, and culture.
Bob has been very involved in the Richmond, Virginia community since 1982, most recently as Chair for the American Heart Association. One of Bob’s greatest thrills was being an Olympic Torch Bearer along Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington D.C. prior to the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics.

Cost to attend
$20 for members (no additional fee for Season Pass holders), $25 for nonmembers employed by a member organization, and $30 for nonmember guests. Fees support program costs and administration. Registrations should be received by Wednesday, September 7th.

Credits for a future meeting or refunds will be given if notification of cancellation is received at VAFRE’s office prior to noon on the Thursday before a regular Tuesday meeting. If cancellation is received after the Thursday before a regular Tuesday meeting, credits and refunds will be given at the discretion of the Management Company based on the number of late registrations received. In the event of illness or an emergency, credits or refunds may be granted at the discretion of the Management Company.
