Role of Supervisors:
- Orientation and Training
- Acknowledge specific requirements students may need to fulfill
for academic credit.
- Provide a checklist or section to help supervisors request and
track necessary information.
- Outline expectations and key responsibilities for site supervisors
to foster a successful internship.
- Introduce interns to the company, its culture, safety protocols,
and office norms.
- Reference available resources like career services for credit-related
internships.
- Mentorship and Guidance
- Supervise daily activities.
- Provide feedback on the interns’ performance to help them improve
and develop.
- Problem-solving by being a resource for interns to approach for
assistance and advice in solving work-related problems.
- Setting Learning Goals
- Define objectives to set clear and measurable learning objectives.
- Track progress.
- Administrative Tasks
- Maintain records of interns’ hours, assignments, evaluations
and achievements.
- Evaluating Internship Experience
- Conduct final evaluations or exit interviews to gather feedback
from interns on their experience.
