Registration

  • For individuals who are not personally members of VAFRE but are members of the Central Virginia Chapter AFP or whose organization has one or more paid members, or who are guests of a member, and who are planning to attend in-person at the Virginia War Memorial.
  • For VAFRE members who are planning to attend in-person at the Virginia War Memorial.
  • For those nonmembers who wish to attend in-person at the Virginia War Memorial
  • For VAFRE members who have purchased a 2022-2023 Season Pass
  • For the complimentary guest of a Season Pass holder. This registration type is only available once per year per Season Pass holder. E-mail admin@vafre.org for the registration code.
  • For VAFRE members who have purchased a 2022-2023 Virtual Season Pass and wish to attend this program in person.

Do you have a seat at the budgeting table or do you feel like decisions are made for your department without you? This session will help you shift from reacting to leading, so get ready to level up your budgeting game!

Join us on February 3rd for an energizing conversation with Sarah Milston—former VAFRE Board member and founder of The Spark Mill—as she shares smart, practical strategies for the budget process that helps fuel nonprofit growth.

Objectives:

  • Learn more about the role of Science, Data, and Facts in Budgeting
  • Learn how to use your Development Plan and Development Reports to leverage creating achievable goals
  • Currently no say in budgeting? Learn how to take control when things are out of your control and other sneaky leadership tips

Pending Approval for CFRE credit.

Our Presenter

Sarah Milston is a recovering fundraiser and the Founder of The Spark Mill - a strategic consultancy focused on strategy and change servicing the Mid-Atlantic region for over a decade. Sarah loves a challenge and is known for making connections between people and ideas and data. She believes change is a necessary and exciting part of life and works hard to raise two kids with hopes they will be good and kind humans.

Registration Fees

  • In-person registration is $20 for members of VAFRE ($0 for those with a Season Pass or $12 for those with a Virtual Season Pass), $25 for Central Virginia Chapter AFP members and nonmembers who work at a member organization, and $30 for guests. All in-person registrants should select their meal during the registration process.
  • Virtual registration is $8 for members of VAFRE ($0 for those with a Virtual Season Pass), $11 for Central Virginia Chapter AFP members and nonmembers who work at a member organization, and $15 for nonmembers. The virtual registration fees help support the technology costs associated with offering a hybrid event.

If you are not a VAFRE member and do not work in the office of a member, consider becoming a member of VAFRE in order to access reduced registration fees.
