  • For individuals who are not members of VAFRE and whose organizations do not have another member and who are planning to attend the program virtually.

Our Program

In this captivating live demonstration, experience the incredible capabilities of ChatGPT in grant proposal writing. Watch as we select an audience member and showcase the seamless process of using prompts to generate and refine persuasive content for grant applications. Witness the speed, accuracy, and creativity of ChatGPT as it helps craft compelling narratives and impactful project descriptions. Learn how to leverage this AI tool to streamline proposal writing, save time, and enhance grant-seeking success.  

By the end of the session, attendees will be equipped with the knowledge and confidence to leverage ChatGPT as a valuable tool in their grant-seeking endeavors, enhancing their grant proposals' effectiveness and maximizing their fundraising impact.

Approved for 1 hour of CFRE credit.

OUR PRESENTER

Matt Leighty is the Founder and President of Leighty & Associates. At ease with both large federal applications and corporate and foundation funding sources, he has raised more than $150 million for his clients since launching Leighty & Associates in 2013.  Matt works with clients to identify programs and stories for funding, new opportunities to tell those stories, and works to build up a high-quality, reliable portfolio for his clients. With a particular expertise in large, technical writing projects and complex budgets, clients have benefited from years of writing and project management experience.  He was the project director on a multi-state research study of the probation system in the United States, and he was formerly a lobbyist for the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia (B.A. English) and Pepperdine University (Master of Public Policy). After ten years in Los Angeles and Long Beach, he returned to his hometown of Richmond, Virginia in 2017.  Matt and his wife, Shannon, have two children, Xander and June.

Our Schedule

  • 11:30 a.m. In-person Registration begins
  • 11:45 a.m. Virtual participants may login
  • 12 p.m. Annual Meeting and Program begins
  • 1:30 p.m. Adjourn

Registration Fees

  • Virtual registration is $8 for members ($0 for those with a Virtual Season Pass), $11 for nonmembers who work at a member organization and $15 for nonmembers. The virtual registration fees help support the technology costs associated with offering a hybrid event. 
  • In-person registration is $20 for members ($0 for those with a Season Pass or $12 for those with a Virtual Season Pass), $25 for nonmembers who work at a member organization, and $30 for guests. All in-person registrants should select their meal during the registration process.

If you are not a VAFRE member and do nor work in the office of a VAFRE member, consider becoming a member of VAFRE in order to access reduced registration fees.
