Your donors should never have suspicious minds about their philanthropic investments in your organization. Loren and Debbie will share about their linked experiences as a fundraiser and philanthropist through the relationship they’ve built and the missions they’ve served. Open up your heart and mind for an interactive conversation about the strategies, tactics and stories utilized in stewarding donors.

Our Presenter

• Loren Hatcher, Director of Development, University of Virginia Curry School of Education Foundation, 2007 VAFRE Rising Star Award Winner. Loren is the philanthropic lead for Curry’s role for the STAR (Supporting Transformative Autism Research) Project. Her seventeen year nonprofit background includes leadership roles within higher education, youth development and health & wellness organizations. The daughter of two former educators, Loren is passionate about connecting donor interests to the innovative and important work taking place at Curry and in the communities they serve.

• Debbie Johnston, Founder, CareAdvantage, Inc., and Connecting Hearts. 

  She has been recognized as the Entrepreneur of Richmond, Philanthropist of the Year, and Woman on the Move. She is a highly esteemed entrepreneur, health care expert, business guru, non-profit expert, and Virginia’s Adoption Champion. Debbie is the founder of Care Advantage Inc. and Virginia’s non-profit organization for adoption awareness, Connecting Hearts. Debbie currently uses her business expertise to coach others who want to start a business and is working on new endeavors of her own. She also continues to advocate for adoption in Virginia and mentors the growth and success of other non-profits.

COST TO ATTEND

$20 for members (no additional fee for Season Pass holders), $25 for nonmembers employed by a member organization, and $30 for nonmember guests. Fees support program costs and administration. Registrations should be received by end of day November 28th.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Credits for a future meeting or refunds will be given if notification of cancellation is received at VAFRE’s office prior to noon on the Thursday before a regular Tuesday meeting. If cancellation is received after the Thursday before a regular Tuesday meeting, credits and refunds will be given at the discretion of the Management Company based on the number of late registrations received. In the event of illness or an emergency, credits or refunds may be granted at the discretion of the Management Company.
