Members receive a 20% discount on certification and recertification. | From the PresidentDear Friends and Colleagues, Happy New Year! With the new fiscal year at VAFRE upon us, we know we have a lot of work to do. But thankfully we have a guidebook to help us along the way. With the new strategic plan in hand, the board is working diligently to implement its findings and help VAFRE members (and potential members) Engage, Empower and Excel. We were thrilled to see a full room at July's brown bag lunch program. Even during the height of summer, our events are seeing strong turnout and passionate engagement from attendees. At one table in particular, we spoke with folks brand new to the profession sitting across from veterans with several decades' experience. We listened to suggestions for getting the word out about Development as a career path, creating space for new ideas and helping make the profession more diverse. At September's program, we're partnering with our friends at AFP Central Virginia to answer questions about CFRE certification (on which VAFRE members receive a discount). And if you're looking for a small group environment to convene with and learn from, the P3 program is accepting applications for the next class. I'm absolutely honored to help lead VAFRE through this first year of the new strategic plan, and I have no illusions about doing it alone. Please help us cultivate and support the fundraising profession in Virginia, including folks already working these incredibly important roles and those considering it as a career. Thank you for being a member, and thank you for helping elevate communities throughout the Commonwealth. With warm regards, Will Glasco ___________________________________ Help Wanted! Are you comfortable facilitating meetings on Zoom? Do you like to attend VAFRE's monthly programs?
